Mayors Challenge

Since 2007, the 3E’s Mayors Challenge has motivated Texas mayors to promote Summer Food Service Programs (SFSP) in their communities to ensure children in need get nutritious meals when they are not in school. This year’s Mayors Challenge introduces a collaborative approach to helping children build a bridge to success using the 3E’s of Healthy Living — Education, Exercise and Eating Right.

Mayors Challenge

The Mayors Challenge is a vital step in building a bridge to success by which children have equal access to nutritious meals, nutrition education, physical activity information and opportunities that establish a solid foundation for future life goals. This network empowers mayors to unite their efforts to reduce hunger and prevent obesity by promoting the 3E’s of Healthy Living – Education, Exercise and Eating Right and increasing awareness and participation in TDA’s Food and Nutrition Programs.

For additional information, or to register, contact Walter Brewer at Walter.Brewer@TexasAgriculture.gov or (512) 463-5941.
