Child and Adult Care Food Program
Providing reimbursable meals and snacks to children, seniors and disabled adults.
The Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) reimburses child care centers, day care home providers, and adult day care centers for part of the cost associated with serving more than 400,000 approved meals and snacks to children and adults in Texas every day.

The goal of the CACFP is to improve and maintain the health and nutritional status of children and adults, promote development of good eating habits, and integrate nutritious food service with organized child and adult day care services.

Funmi & Friends

This short online video is an educational tool for preschoolers (ages 2 – 5), parents and child care providers to supplement the Farm to Child Care grant recipients. These recipients are committed to teaching children about the food system and where their food comes from. Because of these experiences and knowledge, children are more likely to select and consume fresh fruits and vegetables.  The video visits an urban farm where fruits and vegetables are grown and using the fresh produce a healthy tasty snack is prepared.

The Adventures of Zobey

The Adventures of Zobey videos are designed to engage preschool children with activities that encourage them to be active and choose healthy foods. By interacting with the energetic purple monster Zobey, children also learn about where foods come from and celebrations using healthy foods.
