School Year 2017
  1. SY 2017 Commodity Meal Rate - The published rate for the period July 1, 2016, to June 30, 2017, is $0.23 for NSLP schools. 
  2. USDA added an additional $0.09 to the SY 2017 Commodity Meal Rate to include the shortfall in USDA purchases for SY 2016 for a national rate of $0.32 cents per meal.
  3. Texas' rate is currently estimated at $0.3372 per meal.
School Year 2016 
  1. SY 2016 Commodity Meal Rate - The published rate for the period July 1, 2015, to June 30, 2016, is $0.2375 for NSLP schools. 
  2. USDA added an additional $0.0750 to the SY 2016 Commodity Meal Rate to include the shortfall in USDA purchases for SY 2015 for a national rate of $0.3125 cents per meal.
  3. Texas rate is currently estimated at $0.3207 per meal.
