Texas law mandates that public school districts in which 50% or more of the enrolled students are eligible to receive NSLP free or reduced-price meal benefits must operate SFSP/SSO, partner with another organization, or request and receive a waiver approval from TDA.

*In addition to the waiver request, a written notice of intent to request a waiver must be sent to the local school health advisory council (SHAC) no later than November 30.
