Special Milk Program (SMP) Application


Applications for participation in the SMP are accepted year-round from new participants and from previous participants that voluntarily withdrew from the programs. 

Applications from organizations that previously participated in the SMP and were terminated are only accepted from April 1 to May 31 of each year. The application and all program requirements must be completed by July 31. On August 1, incomplete applications will become null and void.  Reapplication will not be accepted until April 1 of the following year. The following program requirements must be completed prior to approval: repayment of any monies owed to TDA and attendance (by all personnel involved with the administration of the SMP) of a mandatory compliance training at the expense of the organization at the Austin office. Additionally, during the first year of application, the contracting organization must successfully pass an administrative review.

National School Lunch Program/School Breakfast Program (NSLP/SBP) Application


Applications for participation in the NSLP/SBP are accepted year-round from new participants and from previous participants that voluntarily withdrew from the programs. 

Applications from school food authorities (SFAs) that previously participated in the NSLP/SBP and were terminated are only accepted from April 1 to May 31 of each year. The application and all program requirements must be completed by July 31. On August 1, incomplete applications will become null and void. Reapplication will not be accepted until April 1 of the following year. The following program requirements must be completed prior to approval: repayment of any monies owed to TDA and attendance (by all Child Nutrition personnel) of a mandatory compliance training in August, at the expense of the SFA, at the Austin office. Additionally, during the first year of application the SFA must successfully pass a Coordinated Review Effort (CRE).
